RubberFlooringInc.com + Nike = Awesome Gym Flooring

Training Ground Tiles with Nike Grind

Training Ground Tiles with Nike Grind

We are pretty pumped up to introduce a new product that we have been working on for years.  We now carry a product that contains Nike Grind.  What is Nike Grind?  Well basically Nike collects old Nike shoes through their reuse a shoe program and they then grind up the different parts of the shoe and reuse the materials in other products.  So rather than your old shoes ending up in landfills, they end up being recycled.  To date, Nike has recycled over 28 million pair of shoes due to their reuse a shoe program.

The Nike Grind product we now carry is called Training Ground Tile.  This tile is made up of recycled rubber and recycled Nike shoe outsoles (the rubber on the bottom of a shoe) and in total is made of roughly 95% recycled goods.  We strive to offer a lot of “green” flooring  options here at RubberFlooringInc.com but this product might be our “greenest” yet.  To learrn more about Nike’s Reuse-a-ashoe program, please visit here.

If you are interested in ordering our training ground tile or ordering samples of the product, please visit our product page at the following link:

There are thousands upon thousands of commercial gyms across the country managed by numerous public and private business entities.  Commercial gyms and weight room facilities often cater to many different types of clientele.  Some large scale nationwide gyms like Gold’s Gym, LA Fitness, Lifetime Fitness, etc. are huge facilities that can fit just about everyone’s needs.  A large contingent of commercial gyms however are private training studios, Olympic weight training facilities, and 24 hour fitness centers that are designed to meet the needs of niche clientele who need the specific training options or flexibility in training times that these types of gyms offer.  No matter what type of commercial training facility you operate or plan to open in the near future, you will at some point have to decide on proper gym flooring for your new or existing facility.

At RubberFlooringInc.com, we specialize in rubber flooring, foam gym flooring, and vinyl gym flooring which are all common gym flooring options when used properly.  In this article, we will briefly discuss the most popular commercial gym flooring solutions we sell and talk about the most common gym flooring we don’t sell, carpet, and explain the benefits to each floor covering.

Designer Series Rubber Rolls

Rubber flooring is the most common gym flooring solution installed in new commercial gyms today.  The most common form of rubber flooring installed in commercial gyms is rolled recycled rubber flooring.  Recycled rubber floors are often low in cost, extremely durable, easy to clean, and easy to install.  Many times, rolled rubber is even installed by the gym owner or gym staff due to its extremely easy installation process which only requires some double sided carpet tape and a utility knife.  This helps to save the cost of hiring a professional installation team.  One of the most famous gyms in the world, “The Biggest Loser” gym, for example currently uses 8mm thick recycled rolled rubber flooring.  The Biggest Loser staff is extremely demanding of their flooring since weights are often dropped on the product and sleds are often pushed across the surface of the flooring.

The only downside’s to using recycled rubber flooring is that the flooring is very Read more…

Folding Mats – They’re Back!!!

August 2, 2012 Leave a comment

We have finally relaunched our collection of folding mats today.  When we say finally, it is because it felt like forever since we last had some in stock.  The reason for this was that we were on the hunt for a new supplier who could guarantee us a lower price while still maintaining a very high level of quality.  As a company, our goal is to offer the best deals out there for our line of products and with our old supplier, we eventually realized we just were not doing that.  So we went on the hunt and low and behold, 4-5 months later, here we are.  So what are the differences between our old mats and the new ones you may ask? July 17, 2012 Leave a comment

Here at RubberFlooringInc.com, one of the most common questions we are asked by our customers is “What kind of garage flooring do I need?”  To best answer that question, we usually try to identify what kind of appearance, features, and price range each customer is looking for when it comes to their individual ideal garage floor covering.  In this blog post, we will explain the most popular garage flooring options available today, explain each solution’s strengths and weaknesses, and give a general price range for each option.   Our goal is for this post to be a quick and easy to use guide to help identify what garage floor solution would be best for you.

Garage Floor Tiles

Diamond Grid-Loc Garage Floor Tiles

Garage floor tiles are the most popular garage flooring purchased today by the do-it-yourself homeowner.  Tiles are one of the easiest floor coverings to install and typically interlock or have a peel and stick backing.  Garage tiles can be made of a durable polypropylene (basically a really strong high density plastic composite), a flexible PVC material (people like this because it feels like rubber underfoot and is quiet and has some cushion to it), or peel and stick vinyl tiles.  Tiles are also a favorite of people who want a custom look since numerous colors can be combined in order to create custom patterns such as a checker board pattern, a floor with a border, and more.  Tiles also have the largest variety of color options available and even have numerous surface patterns available.  Coin pattern, diamond pattern, and a vented tile patterns are the favorites of most people however slate pattern and numerous other textured patterns are also available.   Garage tiles, like all garage floor coverings, are designed to be chemical and stain resistant.  However, should a tile become damaged in any way, they also offer the benefit of being able to be popped out and replaced.

So what is the down side to tiles?  Read more…

  1. Nitro Rolls will ship the same or next business day right from our facility here in Chandler, AZ.  Every roll out garage flooring supplier before now has had a lead time of 7-10 business days so we are saving the customer 6-9 days of lead time.
  2. Nitro Rolls are the lowest cost coin and diamond pattern garage flooring rolls on the market.
  3. Nitro Rolls have the longest warranty (7 years) of any roll out garage flooring product on the market.  So even if they are low in cost, you can be sure they are of the highest quality.

Nitro rolls initially will be available in two colors, black and light gray, however more color options are expected to be added in the near future.  Nitro rolls are also only available in our most popular garage roll dimension, 7.5′ x 17′ at this time, but more size options could be added by the end of the year.
