Considering new flooring in your kitchen? Vinyl is the way to go. Easy to clean and maintain, vinyl flooring is built with multiple layers for durability and resistance to water and staining, making it the perfect flooring solution for your kitchen and all the little messes you might create.
There are many vinyl flooring options and styles to choose from, the best of which is based on your personal preference and DIY ability.
Vinyl Sheets – A low cost choice for large kitchen areas, vinyl sheet flooring can be a difficult installation without the help of a hired professional. Installation of vinyl sheets require laying sticky adhesive and heat welding the vinyl seams for a seamless appearance, a practice which is unforgiving if a mistake is made. We recommend hiring a professional for this permanent installation due to the advanced nature of the installation.
Peel & Stick Vinyl Tiles – Peel and stick tiles are offered in a variety of colors and patterns, allowing for endless options for your kitchen floor. The peel and stick construction of these tiles make them incredibly easy to install without having to hire a professional, ideal for any DIY-er. These resilient vinyl tiles only require a straight edge and a utility knife for installation, and replacing a damaged tile in the future will be just as easy. Read more…
When we think about vinyl flooring, we often have a mental picture of outdated and out of style bathroom flooring in older homes. The go-to low cost option for many decades, vinyl flooring was perceived as cheap and lacking beauty and range of options. Vinyl flooring developed a bad reputation, causing a wide array of deluxe flooring materials to hit the market. With more options available these past few decades, we have seen friends and family replace their old vinyl flooring with more “modern” and “trendy” flooring options.
Recently reborn, vinyl flooring is making a comeback and is now one of those “modern” and “trendy” flooring options of the future. Technologically advanced, vinyl flooring should be known for the amazing and versatile flooring that it truly is, the flooring of the future. Read more…
Kid’s carpet tiles are a great addition to any home, offering fun playful patterns that are not only exciting for kids but adults alike. So why would someone purchase kid’s carpet tiles over broadloom carpeting? In this article, we will discuss five reasons why someone would choose carpet tile squares over broadloom carpeting and help dispel many of the myths that surround carpet tiles, allowing more people the opportunity to enjoy the benefits carpet tiles can bring to any home.
One of the first things that cross most people’s minds when it comes to flooring is the cost. When it comes to carpet tiles and broadloom carpeting, that can be a hard thing to compare. Depending on where you are located in the country and what type of carpeting you are looking to install, the costs can go either way. Typically, for the life of the flooring, modular carpet tiles are a more cost effective way to floor any space due to lower installation and replacement costs. Even though in some instances the actual cost of the flooring can be pretty comparable, carpet tiles are typically more expensive. But the amount of time and disruption the installation of broadloom carpeting causes, typically makes up for any product cost difference between tiles and broadloom. Read more…
We are pretty pumped up to introduce a new product that we have been working on for years. We now carry a product that contains Nike Grind. What is Nike Grind? Well basically Nike collects old Nike shoes through their reuse a shoe program and they then grind up the different parts of the shoe and reuse the materials in other products. So rather than your old shoes ending up in landfills, they end up being recycled. To date, Nike has recycled over 28 million pair of shoes due to their reuse a shoe program.
The Nike Grind product we now carry is called Training Ground Tile. This tile is made up of recycled rubber and recycled Nike shoe outsoles (the rubber on the bottom of a shoe) and in total is made of roughly 95% recycled goods. We strive to offer a lot of “green” flooring options here at RubberFlooringInc.com but this product might be our “greenest” yet. To learrn more about Nike’s Reuse-a-ashoe program, please visit here.

Entrance mats are the first line of defense for any business helping to keep dirt, water and debris out of their interior. With so many mats to choose from, from carpet mats to rubber mats, it can be difficult to figure out which is best for your application. To best find the mat that is perfect for your entry way, one must keep a couple of key elements in mind: traffic flow and weather.
Traffic flow is one of the most important factors in determining which type of entrance mat would be best for your entryway. For light to moderate traffic, typically a carpet topped entrance mat is sufficient to eliminate most dirt, water and debris from shoes. Typically one would want to go with a minimum 5’ long mat which allows an average individual to hit the mat with both feet. Since these mats are installed indoors, it is typically necessary to clean these mats at least 1-2 times in a two week period, depending on traffic, to keep them looking brand new.
For areas where traffic flow is heavier, a tandem of an outdoor rubber mat and an indoor carpet mat would be recommended. The rubber mat would be your first line of defense helping to eliminate most water, dirt and debris from individual’s shoes. The carpet mat would be the second line of defense helping to further eliminate and trap dirt and debris in the fibers of the carpet, allowing for easy cleaning and disposing of irritants. The longer the indoor entrance mats, the more times a persons shoes are likely to step on the mat as well. Long indoor entrance mats are especially helpful in drying off peoples shoes better than shorter mats.
The next important factor to consider when purchasing an entrance mat is weather. With so many different environments all over the country, it can be difficult to find the mat that will give you the best result. Typically for areas that receive a lot of weather, a rubber entrance mat is the best to use due to its durability in extreme weather and its ability to stay slip resistant even when wet. With rubber mats, it is best to use a mat that is made from nitrile rubber (NBR) or styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). NBR is more rigid and is very tough in inclement weather and SBR keeps mats more flexible, while maintaining the mats integrity. In areas where weather is not much of an issue, such as the Desert Southwest, you can typically use either rubber or carpet topped mats. But for most outdoor mats, a rubber entrance mat will give you the most durability and slip resistance.
At Rubber Flooring Inc., we offer a number of rubber and carpet entrance mats that come in various colors, styles, and price ranges. Using these two major factors, will help you properly determine the best mat or mats to use to properly eliminate a large portion of the dirt and debris that can enter into your business. This will help to ensure that the interior of your business remains clean, safe, and presentable to your employees and customers.
One of the single most asked questions we receive here at RubberFlooringInc.com is “Should I get foam or rubber for my home gym flooring?” This quick post is going to explain the benefits and disadvantages to using each type of material in an attempt to help answer that question for everyone.
